Several Waupaca County ARES members deployed to Riverside Medical Center
to participate in a district wide emergency medical exercise involving
a mock flu epidemic. One member returned home and established High Frequency
communications on the Wisconsin Emergency Management network as a liaison
between RMC and WEM. The exercise helped identify potential problems that
could arise in a true emergency.

Several updates have been made to the website over the past few days.
A new WCAR emblem was developed and now replaces the old emblem used on
the site.

W9SBU attended the American Red Cross Waupaca Chapter monthly meeting.
He presented information about WCAR and what they could do to support
the chapter in disaster response. Most chapter members where not aware
of our capabilities or availability. A few members noted that our capabilities
would have been helpful in past reponses.

New web site launched.
W9SBU - Charles Clark is the webmaster for WCAR. For asthetics and especially
to clean up the code and layout of the pages, Charles has spent many hours
developing the new web site. Using CSS for style definition, Charles developed
this series of web pages that all have the same theme and layout.

Jim Kirk, Community Development Specialists, from the East Central Wisconsin
Chapter of the American Red Cross attended our monthly meeting. Discussions
with him focused on developing a stronger, closer working relationship between
the agencies.
